[ She greets the barge with a smile. Her appearance is 'normal' - normal for a human. No blue skin or yellow eyes in sight. ]

Hi. [ And a little wave. She regrets it immediately. That's kind of embarrassing, isn't it? And not something that she should be doing, because she's here for a purpose. ] I'm Raven.

I heard a few of my friends were here, so I thought I'd come… help. I'm a warden.

And I'm here because I really believe that even if you're trapped, you still should have a chance to figure out who you are. I think that's important.

Well, you thought I was crazy for trying, but I found you.

[ She considered her approach to this for a long time. There are a lot of things that they should probably say to each other, and she's supposed to be responsible here. She can't just avoid him, as much as she wants to, while she gets her head together. ]

[He exhales hard, somewhere between shaky-shocked and shaky-furious.]

If you live with people who disagree with you, who constantly make you think what you are is wrong, then it changes you. Isn't that what he's doing right now?

That's not what's happening here, Raven. Not with us. [Because well. Other people have been far less understanding, and he's not going to lie about that.]

Charles, I'm not saying this to hurt you.

But how would you know?

[ He did it to her for so long. ]

He'd tell me if he felt like I was. And because- [And maybe this isn't fair, but she hadn't let him do this, and maybe that was why things had gone wrong.] I've been in his mind. A lot, actually.

[Which was another difference. She hadn't given him that trust, and she'd never said anything, never really sat him down and tried to explain until it was too late. He knew he was at fault, too, but the accusations that he'd do that to Erik after everything they'd been through hurt.]

We've gotten a lot closer since we've been here, Raven. I'm not saying this to hurt you, but you have no idea what we've been through. I wouldn't be here right now if it weren't for Erik, in more ways than one. [He could have gone home after Tony graduated, but he also might have let himself totally collapse on himself after the Vanquish if Erik hadn't been there to make him put himself back together.] We're different people.

[But he sounds more sad than anything else when he says it.]

[ But it does hurt her. It hurts her worse than most anything he could have said. Charles needs Erik more than her. Erik needs Charles more than her. Where does that leave her?

She hadn't wanted him in her mind because his power scared her. He was so much bigger than she was; she thought she might just be swallowed up. ]

I didn't think you would be exactly the same.

[He rubs his temples, suddenly feeling a hundred years old and exhausted.]

Sometimes I wish I was.

[ And he probably wishes that they were back living together. That she was well-behaved again. ]

I bet.

[ Angry, and sad. ]

You ask him. You ask him if I've done that to him.

I'm going to.

[ She doesn't know this whole situation inside and out, and doesn't know why he seems to expect her to. She's going to assume the worst. ]

Good.

I'm not his enemy. I'm not going to be his enemy.

[That's what he'd hoped she knew - how important Erik was to him. But apparently not.]

It sounds like you still want me to be yours, though.

[And now he just sounds - indescribably sad.]

I don't want enemies! I just want to be me.
