01st transformation . video . locks for erik & charles
[ She greets the barge with a smile. Her appearance is 'normal' - normal for a human. No blue skin or yellow eyes in sight. ]
Hi. [ And a little wave. She regrets it immediately. That's kind of embarrassing, isn't it? And not something that she should be doing, because she's here for a purpose. ] I'm Raven.
I heard a few of my friends were here, so I thought I'd come⦠help. I'm a warden.
And I'm here because I really believe that even if you're trapped, you still should have a chance to figure out who you are. I think that's important.
[ locked to Erik ]
Well, you thought I was crazy for trying, but I found you.
[ locked to Charles ]
[ She considered her approach to this for a long time. There are a lot of things that they should probably say to each other, and she's supposed to be responsible here. She can't just avoid him, as much as she wants to, while she gets her head together. ]
You should know that I'm here.

[And while he'd pry with Charles, it occurs to him that maybe he shouldn't with her. Maybe. Dropping his arms to clasp his hands between his knees, he stares ahead for a few moments before straightening and turning toward her.]
What about the death toll?

[He pushes himself up, crosses his arms and turns to her.]
I just want to know how to react to you. Things have changed for both of us, Raven. [He cocks his head.] Maybe for the better.

You met Kelsier.

[ She's trying to be fair about this, but it's hard, through the anger. ]
He's interesting. Do you like him?
[Spam]
Comparatively, Kelsier's a saint. [Yes he likes Kel but he is no fool, he is waiting for a fuck up.]

I think you line up with what I thought of him.
He's impressed with your mutation, isn't he?

It's hard to fake a smile I can't see through.

He asked.

Their loss.

I know, you think I should have just gone with blue. I didn't because I didn't know what to expect here. I didn't know that a lot of metahumans were wardens too.

[ She considers her words. She's trying to be honest, without being hurtful - to say, truly, what she thinks. ]
I'm sorry for saying that, it's not what I meant. I mean there's bad in you - or there was - just like there's bad in me. There's anger. But it doesn't mean there's not something right in what we were doing. And I want to think that the Admiral would be satisfied with helping you without changing you, but I couldn't be sure.
And that's not to say you're weak, because you're not. It's just that for me Charles was always overwhelming. He was always so right, and sometimes it made me forget that other things could be right too.
So I'm not here because I think Charles is bad, or because I think you're perfect. It's because I think you should have someone to fight for what makes you different from Charles. I think you deserve that.
[Spam]
It was Charles who first made him think differently, and now he's not entirely certain. It becomes less important, when you have something to fight for. When you aren't just out for revenge, when you're pursuing justice. Real justice. But it's a blurry line for him: revenge has been his whole life. It's hard to change. And sometimes you do have to change.
He gets up slowly, goes to sit beside her again, leaning one hand against the bed so he can face her.]
If there's bad in us, there's good, too. I'm not trying to become Charles. [If anything, he thinks distantly, Charles has become a little more like him. He thinks he should regret that, but he can't quite manage it. A wry smile crosses his face.]
You can be right, too. And just because he can be wrong doesn't mean he's always wrong. [Because he thinks they both deserve to have a decent relationship again.
Straightening, he scratches his jaw, and turns his head to glance at her again.]
I can't say I'm glad you're here. No one would be here, if I had my way. But I can count the people who would fight for me on one hand. So - thank you.
[Spam]
I didn't want you to think I followed you because I worship you.
[Spam]
If you were that ridiculous, I wouldn't bother being grateful.
