Darlin', I'm one bad joke and one shitty smirk away from an argument with everyone. But no, I actually hadn't really talked to him. Beyond the usual "oh look, you're throwing a tantrum, that's adorable."

So it was all about his former warden.

Wouldn't know. Mostly I just did the dying. It was pretty straightforward on my part.

Are you... do you want to take revenge?

Ventilating that asshole isn't going to take it out of Felix's head, it's not going to put that communicator back in Iris's hand. It's not gonna make me forget what it felt like.

Well, I'm going to make sure he thinks twice about doing it again.

Yeah? And how'd you intend to do that?

I don't want to hurt him. It would just make his pride harder to deal with.

[ She's hesitant to say what she's thinking. ]

I thought I'd make him blue. Look blue, like he's supposed to look, not how he appears.

[Dean's eyes harden a little, narrowing. Pride. Blue. Right.]

And just what, exactly, is that supposed to do again?

He tried to kill my boyfriend, darlin'. Messily and painfully and for no goddamn reason. If I thought it would do any good, I would go put a round through his skull right now. You understand that, right?

[ Boyfriend? Another one?

It takes Raven a second to recover from the surprise of that, and push back on track. ]

Felix thought it was a good idea.

[Dean sees the surprise, and while it never quite stops him, he does think he has a pretty good idea what it's about. A muscle in his jaw jumps, ready for it, but not for what she actually says.

He squints at her critically.]

I must be missing something.

[ She seizes on this, and pushes right on past the new mention of homosexuals. Is it really that normal, on the Barge? If it is, should she ever mention it at all? How does Charles handle this? ]

He thought it would do more to Loki than hurting him would.

Is that so.

[The truth of the matter is that Dean would much rather just forget it ever happened; he can't, now, of course. Not now that Loki is back, because he's not as stupid as he looks. He won't turn a blind eye to a threat. But for his own part he'd rather just stow the damage, the nightmares, and be done with it.

But Felix is another matter, which actually makes this more Felix's call than Dean's. The hunter can't imagine what the logic process is, there, but he's quiet for a moment anyway.]

Fine. And what's the plan for keeping him from staging a sequel? Cass was his warden before and she was the definition of a badass and he still got it over on her.

[ ohgood. She actually lets out a huff-breath, relieved that she isn't going to have to stop him from taking revenge. ]

I'm not really a ... badass, but I can make him pay attention to me.

Really, I can't guarantee that he won't do it again. I can guarantee that he'll regret it.

Yeah, he will, because if he comes after us again? It might be worth the demotion. And I won't apologize for it, either.

[ She wildly resents this, and wants to argue about it, but some part of her understands, so she wrestles that impulse down. Even though she wants to shout at him. ]

[He can see she's upset. He doesn't care. He was pretty upset about having to throw his now-boyfriend onto a roof to keep him from being torn apart by starving dogs, and none too happy about being unable to avoid that fate himself.

He likes dogs, dammit. He doesn't want to be traumatized by them.]
