[ She greets the barge with a smile. Her appearance is 'normal' - normal for a human. No blue skin or yellow eyes in sight. ]

Hi. [ And a little wave. She regrets it immediately. That's kind of embarrassing, isn't it? And not something that she should be doing, because she's here for a purpose. ] I'm Raven.

I heard a few of my friends were here, so I thought I'd come… help. I'm a warden.

And I'm here because I really believe that even if you're trapped, you still should have a chance to figure out who you are. I think that's important.

Well, you thought I was crazy for trying, but I found you.

[ She considered her approach to this for a long time. There are a lot of things that they should probably say to each other, and she's supposed to be responsible here. She can't just avoid him, as much as she wants to, while she gets her head together. ]

You should know that I'm here.

[It's not her room at the manor, he notices that right away. Which says plenty, in its own way. He's glad to see that she changes, at least, that she returns to being her once the door is closed.

He wishes she hadn't felt the need to hide at all, but he at least understands it a little.]

A month. What the hell are you doing here?

Hmm. [ Longer than it's been for her. ]

I thought you could probably use a - another friend.

[He likes that she pauses, changes her wording. Makes him feel less like he has to defend others. Instead of standing still, he walks around her room slowly, pausing by the table and tapping his fingers against its surface lightly.]

It's dangerous here, Raven. Maybe I should have made that clearer. ['But I didn't think you'd be fool enough to come here' is the rest of that sentence.]

You should go home.

[He said it to Alex, too. Things have changed enough, he's experienced enough here that all he wants is to protect them.

And try to hide that he's grateful she'd come here for him.]

You made it clear. I came anyway.

[ Because she thinks it's important. Because she thinks there might be something here for her too. And also because the prospect of a deal was very tempting. ]

If I'm going, I'll go because it's my decision, not because it's yours. [ It's not snapped, not said in a mean way, but it is firm. She wants her own decisions, and to face her own consequences. That's important too. ]

[He frowns for a long moment, like the strength of his will can make her change her mind.

He knows it's stupid. He spends enough time with Ivy to realize it's even very stupid. So eventually he gives his head a little shake and his mouth turns in a rueful almost-smile.

Sitting down at the table, he looks up at her, taps his fingers against the surface, one-two-three-four, one-two-three-four.]

You didn't have to come for me. Though I appreciate it. [And that feels a little much, so he pulls back again.] I saw you found Alex.

[ Maybe it's a little much, but it wins a smile. ]

He found me.

[ She sits on the edge of the bed, draws her legs up so she's cross-legged. ]

I'm glad we're not... fighting each other, here.

[Both his eyebrows rise mildly at that.] You may want to remind yourself of that, when you're talking to him. [He feels a bit like a hypocrite - it's not like they don't still clash - so he grimaces a bit instead.]

There's very little to fight over, here.

I know.

[ She should have watched more closely what she said. ]

I think... there can always be something.

How are you?

[He shrugs, tilting his head nonchalantly to one side, but a moment later he's standing, heading over to her and gesturing to the bed beside her.]

May I?

[ She scoots over a little, unnecessarily, by way of affirmative answer. ]

[He takes a seat, leans forward with his elbows on his knees.]

I'm all right. [Mostly, anyway.] A lot has happened. [And he's fairly certain he doesn't want to talk about any of it.] Have you looked around, yet?

No. I just got here.

Charles... told me some.

[ She's trying not to think about it. ] ...I didn't know he was really hurt. On the beach.

[He runs a hand over his jaw at that, because he wonders how much Charles told her. He wonders if she realizes that it was him, that they walked away from him when he was paralyzed.]

Neither did I. Before here. [And they've had nearly two years to deal with that. Still.]

What else has he told you?

About ports. Breaches.

[ About what went wrong between them. ]

Anyone could have told you that.

[And while he'd pry with Charles, it occurs to him that maybe he shouldn't with her. Maybe. Dropping his arms to clasp his hands between his knees, he stares ahead for a few moments before straightening and turning toward her.]

What about the death toll?

Can anyone tell me that, too?

Haven't we moved onto generalities?

I think you want more information from me than I want from you.

That's possible.

[He pushes himself up, crosses his arms and turns to her.]

I just want to know how to react to you. Things have changed for both of us, Raven. [He cocks his head.] Maybe for the better.

I don't expect you to be the Erik from the past few months. You don't have to react to me any one way, and I didn't come here thinking I'd make you owe me gratitude or something.

No. You came here to - support me. [There's the faintest pause, because he is still not used to having that in most people. He knows he can lean on Charles, but that's from months and months of practically being in each others' heads. At least he doesn't find concern in others suspicious. He is touched that she came, even if he won't say it.]

You met Kelsier.

And to be a different point of view. I know how looking through Charles' eyes can make everything else seem... smaller.

[ She's trying to be fair about this, but it's hard, through the anger. ]

He's interesting. Do you like him?

[He's not sure how he feels about that, and he does know how angry she is - so he doesn't comment, just pulls over a chair so he cans it in front of her, and shrug.] My last warden took over the ship and accidentally threw me in Zero before being demoted. The one before that refused to return my abilities.

Comparatively, Kelsier's a saint. [Yes he likes Kel but he is no fool, he is waiting for a fuck up.]

[ She nods. Hears what Erik says and what he doesn't say. ]

I think you line up with what I thought of him.

He's impressed with your mutation, isn't he?

He needs to ingest metal to do what I can do naturally. Wouldn't you be? [Although he's impressed too, really; Kelsier can do things he sure as hell can't.]
